The opening of the new ArtHotel Kiebitzberg® in Havelberg was eagerly awaited for a long time, and on August 15 the time had finally come. Six weeks later, hotel director Jens Vogt can draw a very positive initial conclusion: The hotel was mostly fully booked, with several hundred guests already occupying various rooms during this time.

„That really is an excellent result after such a short time, because normally a new hotel first has to get the word out and make a name for itself. Obviously we managed to do this before the opening, so that we could hardly cope with the rush of bookings at times,“ says Vogt happily. But the team at the Garni Hotel handled the stress of the first few weeks in a highly professional manner and managed to ensure that guests didn't even notice the hustle and bustle behind the scenes. ‚We received excellent feedback, all our guests were extremely satisfied,‘ says Vogt.

Perfect location for cyclists and water tourists

The newly appointed manager of the guest house, which is located directly on the Havel and in the middle of a charming park, is particularly pleased that many tourists check in not only because of the Havelberg highlights such as the horse market and boat parade. „We also had a lot of bookings from cycle tourists. Our convenient location just 100 meters from the Elbe cycle path on the banks of the Havel is of course ideal for cyclists,“ explains Vogt. Another reason for the high level of guest satisfaction is undoubtedly the 17 individually and modernly furnished rooms at four-star level, the studios measuring up to 40 square meters with eat-in kitchen and the luxury suites with panoramic views over the Havel. „Stylish design and artistic accents run like a red thread through the entire hotel,“ explains Andreas Lewerken, owner and Managing Director of the Kiebitzberg® Group, who developed all the basic details and design of the new hotel in Havelberg himself.

Hotel arrangements for fall and winter

However, the ArtHotel team has no intention of resting on its laurels after the success of the first few weeks: „We have put together further tempting seasonal and year-round packages for the coming weeks and months and are also advertising these at trade fairs and other events. In this way, we want to continue to attract numerous tourists to the Hanseatic town of Havelberg,“ says Andreas Lewerken. One of these offers, for example, is the Advent package „Christmas market in Havelberg“, which can be booked from December 1 to 4, 2011, i.e. during the Havelberg Christmas market. „There are plenty of Christmas markets, but the Christmas market in Havelberg is really something very special, because it presents itself under the motto ‚small but nice‘ instead of large and commercial and offers a particularly romantic ambience on the church square in front of the town church,“ says Jens Vogt.

The hotel package includes two nights in a double room with breakfast from the extensive buffet and culinary entertainment, a three-course menu on one evening as well as a ‚fruit treatment‘, water and beer in the minibar to welcome you in your room. „By culinary entertainment, we mean culinary seduction. These are delicacies that are not available in every hotel or in the everyday lives of our guests. A fruit treatment is a fruit basket with bite-sized fruit,“ explains Vogt. In addition, there is free parking directly at the hotel as well as free Wi-Fi, a welcome drink and something sweet on arrival as well as an admission ticket to the Bad Wilsnack crystal, spa and graduation thermal baths for four hours including sauna. The price per person for the „Christmas market in Havelberg“ hotel package is 138.50 euros in a double room.
