On November 27, 2007 at 14:17, the construction of a new passenger ship in the style of a Mississippi steamer began with the welding of the first bulkhead (number 18).
The ceremonial launching of the Mississippi paddle steamer took place on June 20, 2008 at 09:00. Renate Lewerken gave the ship its provisional name KSW-051 with a christening speech before it was slowly lowered into the water, carried by two heavy-duty cranes.
On 07.07.2008 at 6.30 a.m., the Mississippi-style passenger ship set off on its journey towards its home port of Barth. The journey leads along the Elbe to Hamburg, from where it continues through the Kiel Canal towards Kiel. In Kiel, the two funnels are installed and the ship is prepared for the crossing on the Baltic Sea. Once everything is ready, the Mississippi steamer will set sail on its final leg across the Baltic Sea to its home port of Barth. We are expecting an exciting journey...
