Duration of training:
3 years, training takes place at the learning locations in Havelberg and at the vocational school - theoretical training in Stendal
Training content & tasks:
Carpenters carry out their work independently on the basis of work orders, mainly as part of a team and in cooperation with other trades. They gather information with the help of modern means of communication, plan their work, set up workplaces and take measures to ensure safety and health protection at work as well as environmental protection.
They check their work, document it and carry out quality assurance measures. The professional handling of materials such as wood, fiber-reinforced plastics and resins requires carpenters to have a high level of knowledge and skills. Creative thinking, work discipline and perseverance, flexibility, basic mathematical skills, precise work and manual dexterity are among the most important qualities of a good carpenter.
Teamwork, your own creative projects and complex tasks with wood as the main raw material round off the day-to-day work of a carpenter. If you have worked as a journeyman for at least 3 years after your apprenticeship, you can register for the master craftsman's examination.
