Foundation stone laid for the new 1,200 m² hall

The group of companies managed by Andreas and Renate Lewerken is thinking ahead with the investment costing well over one million euros above all a secure future: for the company, for the employees - all 103 employees were invited to the celebrations yesterday - and not least for the production site in Havelberg's northern industrial estate. „The Kiebitzberg® Group has thus sent out a signal that things can also move forward east of the Elbe despite the flood disaster a good three months ago,“ said District Administrator Carsten Wulfänger in his speech at the foundation stone ceremony. He was particularly pleased that new jobs will be created with the construction of this production facility, which means, among other things, social and financial security for the people who will occupy them later. „Thank you very much for getting this investment off the ground,“ he concluded, addressing the entrepreneurial couple and their son, junior boss Florian Lewerken.

„Above all, we are looking for well-trained joiners“, Andreas Lewerken echoed the words of the district administrator. He could well imagine the number of employees at the Kiebitzberg® Möbelwerkstätten site increasing from the current 36 to up to 55 in the near future.

Steadily increasing order volume

The Havelberg-based construction company Lati has already completed the ground work required for the new production hall, which will be connected to the existing building complex. „With the space now available additional 1,200 square meters area, we are able to further optimize our production line and adapt it to the increasingly complex and labour-intensive manufacturing processes,“ said the company boss.
