„Young people need future opportunities not just anywhere, but in the region,“ is the philosophy of the two Kiebitzberg® managing directors Renate and Andreas Lewerken. The Kiebitzberg® Group offers these opportunities with solid apprenticeships and the prospect of a subsequent career in the Group. Renate and Andreas Lewerken have now taken on two new trainees.

Today, 22-year-old Norman Petzold from Magdeburg signed his apprenticeship contract to become a boat builder at Kiebitzberg® GmbH & Co. KG today. The apprenticeship begins today and is scheduled to end on June 30, 2012. „Norman Petzold was already in the middle of his apprenticeship, but unfortunately his training company in Magdeburg is currently undergoing insolvency proceedings, so we have taken Mr. Petzold on. He will complete the theoretical part of his training at the vocational school for boatbuilding in Lübeck,“ explains Renate Lewerken, Managing Director of the Kiebitzberg® Group. The future training supervisor at Kiebitzberg® will be Steffen Bogs.

The second new apprentice is Dennis Vogel. „Mr. Vogel will start a three-year apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker with us on 1 August. The apprenticeship will provide him with theoretical and practical skills in working with wood,“ explains Thomas Franke, Operations Manager of the furniture workshops and Dennis Vogel's future training manager. This will enable the young man from Glöwen to manufacture products from wood and wood-based materials in the future. High-quality wooden furniture is required for the various clients of the Kiebitzberg® Group. Whether for the company's own ARTHOTEL, which is about to open, or for the construction of yachts, ships or rafts - precision, care and craftsmanship are paramount.

The group of companies has a total of around 70 permanent employees. This makes it an important economic factor for the region and strengthens the local labor market. „Promoting young talent is important to us. We have been training skilled workers for years, and more than 30 young people have now started their careers with us. In doing so, we are also consciously assuming socio-political responsibility for the region and thus counteracting the impending shortage of skilled workers,“ says Andreas Lewerken, Managing Director of the Kiebitzberg® Group. The company trains carpenters, office clerks and construction mechanics and currently has two carpentry apprentices and one apprentice in shipbuilding who is training to become a construction mechanic/metal worker. „The chances of being taken on by us are excellent, we almost always take on good apprentices. But those who want to, of course, also have very good opportunities on the national job market thanks to our solid training,“ says Lewerken.
