Havelberg horse market: a festival for the whole family
Year after year, the Havelberg horse market / marriage market hundreds of thousands of visitors to the cathedral and island city on the Havel on the first weekend in September. From the August 30 to September 02, 2012 it's that time again. The large traders' square is a fantastic place to browse and pick up an antique bargain or two. Early risers can experience the real horse trade, where some horses still change hands today. As it has been since 1750, some even say since 1170, the year the cathedral was consecrated. On the fairground, the many different showmen hold Adventure and entertainment for the whole family ready.

Open day on September 21, 2012
When the main restaurant opens on September 21, a further 40 seats will be available. Managing directors, owners and operators of the ArtHotel Kiebitzberg® in Havelberg, Renate and Andreas Lewerken, invite all interested parties to this Open day from 10 am to 7 pm for the unveiling of the restaurant name, a look at the new Wellness suites in the main buildingand to a colorful Program with the Bitburger Jazz Band, show barkeeping, children's bouncy castle, exhibitions and more.
About the restaurant in the ArtHotel Kiebitzberg® Havelberg
The structural origins of the building extend into the 18th century back. The weaver Johann Joachim Schmok from Nitzow erected a weaving mill on the site at Schönberger Weg 6 in Havelberg. Damask factory. In the middle of the 19th century, the ice cellar, which is still preserved today, was built into the slope of the vineyard.
On August 7, 2007, the founders and managing directors of the Kiebitzberg® Group in Havelberg, Renate and Andreas Lewerken, bought the property with a hotel called Schmokenberg on it, which was in need of renovation at the time. The Havel as an element of peace and relaxation, a hotel as a place of encounter - these were the visions that began in the Fall 2010 the first construction measures. Less than a year later, after extensive renovation and modernization measures, the first phase of the major construction project was completed. The ArtHotel Kiebitzberg® guest house opened on August 15, 2011. With Opening of the complete restaurant operation on September 21, 2012 Lewerkens have breathed new gastronomic life into the traditional restaurant location.

The cathedral and island town of Havelberg is considered the Cradle of the Prignitz. The idyllic Hanseatic city is located in the green north-east of Germany on the „Romanesque Road“. The Elbe and Havel rivers and various cycle path networks meet here. Including the Elbe cycle path and Havel cycle path, which are among the most popular in Germany and Europe. The former bishop's seat is part of the Blue Ribbon„ water tourism project“ and the BUGA region 2015. Magdeburg, Berlin and Hamburg are each approx. 2 hours away by car.
