For Roskilde Oplevelseshavn and Roskilde og Omegns Lystfisker, we designed a research boat to take school classes, students and others out on the Roskilde Fjord to learn more about the underwater world in the area. The solar cab, powered by a twin motor from Torqueedo, was completed in late summer 2021.

In addition to the electric drive, we were able to fulfill other customer wishes for this solar cab. Solar boat fulfill. There are two large solar cells on the roof developed by Florian Lewerken, which provide the majority of the drive energy. The side-mounted storage boxes offer integrated storage space as well as seating. The body used as the base PonTOM Defender 7.0 aluminum boat has side railing elements. We designed two elements as plug-in railings to make it easier to get in and out. The solar cab can be steered from the steering position at the rear.

With a width of 2.5 m, the Defender 7.0 offers enough space and has an optimum position in the water thanks to the design of the hull. The boat is made of seawater-resistant aluminum. Just like the Solartaxi, every PonTOM® Defender is manufactured by us in Havelberg according to customer specifications, which enables us to respond precisely to your wishes and requirements.
