Successful launch of the first new PonTOM® Defender brand boats from Kiebitzberg®

Florian Lewerken, Junior Manager of the Kiebitzberg Group, is enthusiastic about the new Defender series: „You have to have ridden a PonTOM® Defender once to know how wonderfully it sits on the water and turns. It is always a pleasure to explore the river in this way. We now have the Defender series from 2011 completely revised, the Look changed and also the Properties improved. Originally designed as a lightly motorized fishing boat, the PonTOM® Defender has long since become a powerful brand boat for leisure and work advanced. „The basic idea behind the Defender is to create a Solid basis on which all kinds of superstructures can be realized,“ says Florian Lewerken. „The Defender is a modular series boat, that made by hand and equipped according to customer requirements will be. In collaboration with Timothy Schneider and Denny Großmann from the metakonzept GbR (Industrial Design), Florian Lewerken began developing Generation 2 at the end of 2014. The innovations concern the Improvement of the boat hull itself (floor structure, bow and freeboard increase), but also all additional components were redesigned. In all Generation 2 Defenders, you can now more people ride along. The new Defenders correspond to the Seaworthiness category C - They are therefore designed for sailing in coastal waters, large bays, estuaries, lakes and rivers, where weather conditions with a wind force of up to and including 6 and wave heights of up to 2 m can occur. The necessary calculations created the iYacht GmbH from Hamburg.

But the look has also been changed. „We have tried to retain the initial idea of a masculine look in the new Defenders and yet more elegant to become. This „Facelift“ also influences the Driving characteristics in a positive way“, says Florian Lewerken happily. „The first new Defender has been delivered to the customer, and soon two Generation 2 Defenders will be going to Aarhus (Denmark) as water cabs.
