Historic railroad wagon converted into a bridge - The wagon bridge is now being transported from Havelberg to Frankfurt by special transport.
Dexterity and absolute accuracy of fit were required today when an 18-ton railroad wagon was loaded onto a trailer in Havelberg using a special crane. The heavyweight is no ordinary wagon, but has been converted into a bridge. The „wagon bridge“ is now on its way to Frankfurt, where it will connect two buildings belonging to Zeitfracht Logistik in the future.
„That was a really tense moment earlier, because every move had to be perfect so that the body of the wagon didn't deform or twist,“ explains Matthias Lutter, chief engineer at the Kiebitzberg® shipyard. „But everything worked out perfectly and we are delighted to have completed the whole thing on time.“ The converted historic wagon is now on its way to Frankfurt-Raunheim by tractor and accompanying vehicle. The three-metre-wide bridge will serve as a passageway for employees and customers as well as a conference room for meetings.
Zeitfracht Logistik has been planning this project for three years and finally found a competent partner in Havelberg through a recommendation. The Kiebitzberg® shipyard is virtually predestined for such complex tasks. „Our specialty is developing and implementing solutions and feasible planning for such complex projects,“ says Andreas Lewerken, head of the company. „Our advantage in being awarded the project was that we can offer everything on site and from a single source, as all the necessary trades are integrated into the Kiebitzberg® Group.“ This meant that repairs, steel and metal processing, filling work and conservation could be carried out by the Kiebitzberg® craftsmen. Interior insulation and interior fittings with heating and ventilation as well as doors and windows were also carried out by the company. After the final paint job, the wagon now shines in white and red, the colors of the Zeitfracht company.
