The migratory birds have headed south, the golden autumn has done its best and with the current amount of snow, winter is about to follow suit. Now Christmas and New Year's Eve are just around the corner. And while nature is getting ready for hibernation, the ArtHotel Kiebitzberg® and Restaurant Schmokenberg Preparations for the last highlights of 2012 and the new events in 2013 are in full swing. Guests can expect a colorful mix of culinary and cultural treats, e.g. delicious Christmas dishes on 24 and 25 December or a Loriot evening on 13 January 2013. And brand new in the program: dance classes for couples, Hip Hop & Zumba!
Christmas menus in the Schmokenberg restaurant
A Christmas dinner for the whole family - just the thought of it makes some people break out in a sweat. Perhaps you don't want to cook this year? The Schmokenberg restaurant in Havelberg invites its guests to a December 25 and 26, 2012 to various Christmas menus. Enjoy a starter, for example:
- ENTENLEBERPARFAIT with port wine jelly and marinated salad of friseè and shiso cress. And served with a crispy warm broiche
- CREAM OF PARSNIP SOUP with roasted bacon and fiery bell pepper foam.
Choose the main course:
- FRIED MULLET FILLET, served with a delicately spicy Dijon mustard sauce, spicy carrot timbale and truffled mashed potatoes.
- PINK ROASTED DUCK BREAST on hearty cherry red cabbage, thyme la ratte potatoes and fine velvety orange jus.
- GRILLED VEAL FILLET, accompanied by a fine, tangy port wine jus, sautéed mushroom vegetables and fluffy potato cake.
- SUCCULENT BRAISED VENISON in cranberry and pepper sauce. Served with Brussels sprouts tossed in butter and homemade Thuringian dumplings.
For dessert there is „SÜSSES VOM SCHMOKENBERG“ - let us surprise you!
Note: On December 24, 2012 we are open for you from 12:00 to 17:00.Choose food and drinks from the current lunch menu on Christmas Eve and try our home-baked cakes. The Christmas menu is only valid on December 25 and 26, 2012!

Loriot evening „The duck stays outside!“
All fans of good humor will enjoy the Loriot evening on January 13, 2013 at the ArtHotel Kiebitzberg®. The program „Die Ente bleibt draußen!“ is performed by the cabaret artists of Wilde Bühne Weimar and is a tribute to the great artist of the German language, Viktor (Vicco for short) von Bülow.
You can look forward to well-known and lesser-known Loriot scenes such as Marriage counseling, love in the office, yodeling school or gentlemen in the bathroom. Brilliantly performed with his own touch. With irony and a penchant for scurrility from the original Loriot scenes.
