The American soprano Nataly Kraevsky delighted the audience with a magnificent recital at the fourth concert in the „KIEBITZBERG® in CONCERT” series at the ArtHotel in Havelberg.
Accompanied by Reinhard Seehafer on the piano, the demanding songs were performed alongside Petrarch sonnets by Franz Liszt, Russian romances and songs by Glinka, Dargomyrski, Varlamov, Bulakhov and Sergei Rachmaninov. The songs of the Moscow-born Swiss composer Paul Juon, a contemporary of Richard Strauss, whose works have been rediscovered in recent years, were a special rediscovery.
In her program, the singer, who was born in St. Petersburg and has been living in the USA since 1996, interpreted her music, Songs in Russian, Italian, French, English and German. Here she achieved moments of extraordinary beauty, carried by a breathtaking pianissimo and captivating intensity. Reinhard Seehafer once again impressed at the piano, as a sensitive musical partner, who gave the audience short introductions to the composers and their vocal compositions before the songs.
Another reunion and hearing with Natalya Kraevsky is already planned for 2015.
