In glorious sunshine today, 12.04.2010, the ceremonial christening and subsequent launching of the newly completed ship in the style of a water convertible was celebrated at the Kiebitzberg® shipyard. Andreas Lewerken, head of the Kiebitzberg® Group, introduced the festive ceremony with a short speech, a few words on technical details and a heartfelt thank you to his employees. After Dr. Akobir Tursunov, representing the client ENRC Kamek, had expressed his thanks and appreciation for the achievement, Renate Lewerken, head of the Kiebitzberg® Group, recited the obligatory christening poem. Kamola Tursonova, daughter of Dr. Akobir Tursunov, then christened the ship „Astana“ with the words „I wish you good sailing at all times and always a hand's breadth of water under your keel“. A 220-ton crane then gently lifted the ship into the water in front of the numerous guests.
