October 28, 2011, Kiebitzberg® floating docks & jetties
In the far north-west of Germany, between Oldenburg in the east and Groningen in the west, lies the town of Leer. The floating jetties for the modernized waterfront promenade at the „Gateway to East Frisia“ originate from the Kiebitzberg® shipyard in Havelberg. The jetty is part of the large-scale redevelopment measures decided in 2007 for the commercial port of Leer, home to the second largest shipping company in Germany.
Kiebitzberg® floating docks: Clear for mooring
The jetty in Leer is used by the rowing club as a water sports facility and must meet the highest quality and safety standards. It is divided into three segments. The two rowing jetties (28.30 and 12.60 m long, with a total capacity of 57 people) can be reached from the trapezoidal floating ramp, which is 10.3 m long and 4 m wide. Club members can moor and unmoor their rowing boats and dragon boats safely and conveniently from the water at both jetties.

Flexible jetty system with a strong profile
Thanks to the „modular system“ Open-G® profile developed and patented by Kiebitzberg®, even sophisticated and large jetty systems such as the one in Leer can be implemented easily and cost-effectively. Another major advantage of the floating jetties built in this way is that the system allows the jetty to be extended flexibly, easily and cost-effectively. The material used is aluminium, which is characterized by its low weight - while at the same time being strong - and high resistance to corrosion. The wood-plastic covering is ecologically sustainable, very slip-resistant, durable and requires little care and maintenance.
